Lo que sí confirma este post es que en el ejército del Reich, como en cualquier otro, no todos los valientes fueron debidamente condecorados. Y sin duda alguna más de un condecorado lo fué inmerecidamente, o al menos sin tener los méritos verdaderamente suficientes.

Panzer Aces es una lista de biografias, se me olvidaba. No hay lista de Kills por tanquista pero en los apendices hay una breve lista. El mayor era Kurt Knispel, luego Otto Carius. El cacareado Michael Wittman era el 4 o 5 pero ser SS tiene sus privilegios.

Parece que fue un mito más inventado por la propaganda soviética de la época, puesto que se le había atribuido la destrucción de 10 tanques pesados Tigre y Ferdinand el 7 de julio alrededor de Ol’khovatka, pero en aquel sector no había ningún tanque Ferdinand

One mystery surrounding the tank battle on 7 July near Ol’khovatka concerns the role of Major Aleksei F. Sankovsky’s SU-152 from 1541st Heavy Self-Propelled Artillery Regiment. Soviet sources claimed that Sankovsky’s Su-152 single-handedly destroyed 10 Tigers and Ferdinands around Ol’khovatka on this day. It is possible that Sankovsky played a role in destroying the single Tiger and may have damaged others, but no Ferdinands were in this sector.
Sankovsky’s unit was apparently attached to 16th Tank Corps, but the records are unclear. Nevertheless, Sankovsky and his Su-152 were lionized as ‘animal hunters’ and other claims credited him with victories
near Ponyri, also on 7 July.
Thus, it appears that whatever role Sankovsky played during the battle of Kursk, the Zvierboy nickname was purely a propaganda invention intended to create the idea that the Red Army had a solution to the Tiger and Ferdinand.
